Corporate Development Intern (part time)

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented part-time intern to serve as Chief of Staff to the CEO of Transcera, a venture-backed biotech startup pioneering a novel protein-degradation platform to treat autoimmune and other chronic diseases. This unpaid role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the CEO on high-impact strategic initiatives, drive cross-functional projects, and contribute to market research and competitive analysis. The position requires <10 hours per week, with a preference for 1 site visit to our office at LabCentral in Kendall Square per week and a minimum of 2 visits per month. Ideal candidates will be proactive, highly organized, and possess strong communication skills, including the ability to create persuasive, visually compelling presentations. This primarily remote position offers flexible hours and is an excellent opportunity for students or professionals looking to gain deep insights into the biotech industry and startup leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct disease landscaping and market sizing to inform strategic decisions.

• Perform financial modeling and valuation analyses.

• Support fundraising efforts, including developing investor materials and pitch deck slides.

• Assist with competitive intelligence and market research to assess potential opportunities and threats.

• Collaborate with the CEO on operational tasks, project management, and strategic initiatives.

Ideal Candidate

• Currently pursuing a graduate degree (MBA, PhD, or related) with a focus on life sciences, business, or strategy.

• Background or interest in life sciences strategy consulting, investing, or biotech.

• Strong aspirations to work in biotech, life sciences strategy, venture capital, private equity, or investment banking.

• Excellent project management, research, and communication skills.
