Tavros Therapeutics is a precision oncology company leading the new frontier of targeted therapies exploiting tumors’ genetic vulnerabilities. Modular, scalable and fast, the company’s proprietary next-generation bi-directional synthetic lethality platform can precisely and directly identify the paired genetic interactions that form the basis for breakthrough targets and first-of-a-kind cancer drugs. Cutting-edge functional genomics and computational analysis accelerate the discovery of de-risked, druggable targets with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes, minimizing toxicity and quickening development in defined patient subsets. Our goal is to get the right drugs to the right patients, faster.

Tavros is seeking a talented and highly motivated Research Associate to join our growing discovery biology group. The successful candidate will be part of a team devoted to identifying novel drug targets for cancer using our precision oncology platform. This person will play an important role in advancing our discovery platform technology, expanding into new functional genomic modalities, and contributing to our growing small molecule pipeline. The candidate will assist in the design and implementation of experiments aimed at identifying and validating drug targets and defining drug or gene mechanism of action. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded molecular biologist with demonstrated experience in cancer drug discovery.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing startup and make an impact in all

aspects of the drug discovery and development process. We are looking for intrinsically

motivated people who are driven to make a real difference in the lives of cancer

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct experiments to understand drug mechanism of action
  • Conduct large-scale mammalian cell culture experiments
  • Successfully deploy CRISPR/Cas9 and RNAi techniques to perturb the genome and transcriptome
  • Molecular biology to support target validation
  • DNA preparation, sequencing and analysis
  • Cell line engineering
  • Data analysis and presentation to the project team
  • Maintain exceptional scientific records of projects and experiments

Skills & Qualifications

  • BS/MS in a relevant scientific field with at least 1-2 years of hands-on laboratory experience
  • Industry experience preferred
  • Experience working as part of a goal-oriented team
  • Demonstrated ability to work proficiently, maintain deadlines and think critically about technical aspects of experiments
  • Must be detail oriented and demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Experience with molecular and cellular biology techniques such as cloning, PCR,
  • RNA/DNA isolation and sequencing
  • Mammalian cell culture experience required

The following skills are a plus:

  • CRISPR, shRNA, and/or siRNA experience
  • Familiarity with genomic sequencing and functional genomic techniques
  • Experience working with small molecule drug discovery
