Mission

Solugen Inc. is currently hiring Chemical Blending Operators in the Houston, TX area! Qualified candidates will be responsible for the daily operations of the chemical blending facility (scheduling and execution of blends, maintenance of the chemical blending equipment, warehouse operations, and logistics), as well as performing all aspects of warehouse chemicals handling. This position is a full-time position (M-F, 7:30am - 5pm, some overtime). Pay is variable, depending upon experience.

Key Competencies

Job Specific

- Responsible for blending and mixing various chemical formulations using a blend sheet or recipe.

- Must be able to follow detailed procedures and learn new concepts quickly.

- Monitor all tank activities and complete tank inventories daily.

- Weigh and meter all blend components using volume meters and/or load cells.

- Ensure the proper operation of these measuring devices and report any concerns to the supervisor.

- Use and be familiar with a variety of chemical pumps and material handling devices to transfer/transport blending materials.

- Hook up tanks and hoses to blend and/or package the desired product.

- Works closely with line supervisors in assuring the proper tanks are connected to the packaging stations and to notify operators when levels are getting low.

- Monitor blending operations, mixing times, temperatures, and fill levels to ensure safety.

- Be familiar with all products in storage tanks and their specific hazards.

- Take the necessary precautions and wear the appropriate PPE to ensure employee safety.

Qualifications

- High School Diploma/GED required

- At least 2 years of experience as a Blend Operator required

- Previous experience in working with chemicals preferred

- Valid forklift certification

- Medically and physically capable of wearing respirator while performing the above listed work.

- Must have reliable personal transportation to and from the job site.

- Must be accessible by phone.

- Valid Hazwoper certification preferred

- Must be able to read and understand English for the purpose of interpreting Safety
